JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla., – Romeo Alfred Gosselin, 87, of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., died Thursday, Feb. 19.

He was born in Lewiston on Jan. 19, 1922, the son of the late Richard and Alma Giguere Gosselin.

He served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married the former Irene Bilodeau on Dec. 1, 1945.

He worked for Cummings Rug Cleaners for 40 years and owned and operated Gosselin Rug Cleaning business until his retirement in 1992.

He was an avid hockey enthusiast, playing for teams such as The Cyclone and St. Dominique School.

Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Irene; three daughters, Theresa (Anthony) Alfama of North Grosvenordale, Conn., Joline (Brian) Bidwell of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., and Diane (Raymond) Lacasse of Fairfax, Va.; six grandchildren, Cynthia and Derek Alfama, Tiffany Tidwell, Joshua, and Justin and Chantal Lacasse; six great-grandchildren, Alex, Brittney, Donovan, Zachery, Tyler and Avery.

He was predeceased by his parents; and three brothers, Bertrand, H.L. and Charles Gosselin.
