LEWISTON – Theresa A. Guérin, 87, of 78 Middle Road, Sabattus, passed away on Friday, Feb. 20, at Montello Manor where she had been a resident for three months.

She was born in Lewiston on March 2, 1921, the daughter of the late Alphonse and Anna Mailhot D’Amour. She was educated in Lewiston schools and was married Nov. 23, 1945, to Leo P. Guérin, who predeceased her Dec. 6, 1996.

Theresa was employed for many years at Bates Manufacturing, Aerobach Shoe and Knapp Shoe. After retirement, she was employed at Uncle Moe’s Diner in Sabattus. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church and enjoyed taking care of her family and home and walking at the mall.

She is survived by a daughter, Irene Castonguay and husband, Denis, of Sabattus; three sons, Michael and Daniel Guérin both of Sabattus and Raymond of Abbot; five grandchildren, Theresa Burgess, Anthony Castonguay, Chris Guérin, Cindy Ver Colen and Lindsay Brounstein; seven great-grandchildren, Kelley, Amanda, Kaitlyn, Jake, Alex, Morgan and Mac Kenzie; one great-great-grandson, Keagan; a brother, Arthur D’Amour and wife, Ruth, of Cleveland, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Grace Sennett of Lewiston and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Fernande Levasseur; and a brother, Fernand D’Amour.

She will be missed by all whose lives she touched.

Her family thanks in a special way the staffs at Androscoggin Hospice House and Montello Manor for their loving care.
