CONCORD, N.H. (AP) – A hiker missing in the White Mountains since Sunday night has been found after surviving a difficult night, hit by more than a foot of snow and high winds.
Forty-year-old Brian McLaughlin of Lowell, Mass., was found Monday afternoon and was able to walk out on his own. He was found on a trail near Mt. Passaconaway and Mt. Whiteface, in an area that is not heavily used.
McLaughlin, whose condition was not immediately known, had snowshoes, a tent and overnight gear; his wife had called New Hampshire State Police when he didn’t return home.
