AUBURN – Margaret M. Larrabee, 87, of Norway passed away Feb. 23 at the Hospice House.

She was born in Bethel on Aug. 21, 1921, the daughter of Francis and Estelle Westleigh. She married Norman Larrabee on July 8, 1939. Margaret enjoyed her life as a homemaker for her ever growing family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who touched the lives of everyone she met.

Despite never having a driver’s license she always found a way to get everyone where they needed to be, and rarely missed a chance to be with those she loved. She was the perfect example of a strong, quiet, spiritual woman who lived her life to the fullest and never missed the opportunity to laugh.

She is survived by her children, Virginia and Eugene Duford of Fryeburg, Velma and Steve Strout of Hebron, Clifford Larrabee of Norway, Joyce and Charles O’Neil of Rumford, Francis and Beverly Larrabee of Poland, Ersal May of Waterford, and Linda Tripp and David Burnham of Norway; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her siblings, Milford Westleigh, Roland Westleigh, Charlotte Duchette, Florence Nyulaszi and Georgette Brooks; as well as lifelong friends Charles and Charlotte Landers Sr. of Oxford and Alberta Corriveau of New Gloucester.

She was predeceased by her husband of 36 years; her son Norman; daughters, Laurie and Lois Larrabee; a grandson, Steven O’Neil; and her siblings, Arthur Westleigh, Kenneth Westleigh, Sherlon Westleigh, Albert Westleigh and Arlene Jordan.

The family would like to thank the many caregivers who cared for Margaret, Laurie Bilodeaux, Debbie Stevens, Ersal May, Joanne Bartlett, Sarah Stone, April Hunt, Lisa Guilford, Linda Tripp, Virginia Duford and granddaughter, Hope Hoyt. They all willingly gave of themselves when she was in need. A very special person in her life was Danny May, who visited with her every night while she was in the hospital and at hospice care.
