CORAOPOLIS, Pa. (AP) – A Pittsburgh-area Army Reserve unit has a new commander who will oversee some 11,000 troops in 120 units from Virginia to Maine.
Fifty-two-year-old Col. Jack Skelly is the new leader of the 316th Expeditionary Sustainment Command based in Moon Township, west of Pittsburgh.
The 316th is the Army’s first overseas deployable combat support headquarters unit.
In his post, Skelly will oversee 11 brigades in 13 states along the Eastern seaboard.
He’s replacing Brig. Gen. Gregory Couch who is leaving to head the Army Transportation Command at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.
