A snow day, the ultimate day! With any chance of a possible cancellation, we wake up extra early to wait and hope for the name of our school to pop up on the screen, sending endless joy to all of the students. We then turn off the TV, and go back to sleep for those extra wonderful hours of sleep that we make such a big deal about.
A big question floating around these days is: are snow days worth it? Personally, I think that while going an extra week in the summer time can be a drag when all you want to do is be out in the sun, plus the fact it’s hotter than ever inside of the school, it’s still worth it in the end. To take days off here and there in middle of the week during the winter time, I think helps students, at least it helps me, focus more during classes when I’m not as exhausted from staying up late doing homework. Winter is a long season, and when trudging through sometimes impossibly long school days, a chance of a snow day gives kids something to look forward to. Summer vacation is almost three months of pure joy and fun, so going a few extra days isn’t as bad as you may think at first.
