On Friday, December 19, as all the Wildcat students walked down the hall with the smell of pancakes, they were ready for a day of fun and laughter at school. The Wildcat team teachers flipped dozens of pancakes for the almost 120 students on the team. After the wonderful breakfast, students headed to our first period class, but only for half the time, 40 minutes, during which students participated in fun activities. At about 9:20 a.m. we headed to a movie of our choice: “Horton Hears A Who,” “The Clique” and “The Longshot.” At 11:30 a.m. students headed to lunch as a team. We then got to go to an activity of our choice, choosing from scrap booking, guitar hero, karaoke, board games, Jeopardy and Tribond.

After a day of fun and activities the entire school headed up to Leavitt High School to see juggling at “Two.” They are brothers, Jason and Matt Tardy, who decided that they wanted to become jugglers when they were middle school aged: 12, 13, 14 year olds. To become jugglers you need to practice, practice, practice. The brothers practiced eight hours a day seven days a week. They told us to never give up on something you really want to do; What they didn’t do to become jugglers, like not doing drugs and underaged drinking. The two brothers told us that school does help with everything; Jason told us that math comes into juggling because when you have to pay the bills, hotels, and equipment you have to add up the money you’re going to need. Matt told us that he and his brother both had great grades, they were both honor students, and Jason was his class valedictorian. Students left the auditorium with, everyone buzzing about what they were doing over vacation; we got back and everyone got ready to leave. It was a terrific day!
