Legion meeting

LISBON FALLS – Nelson-Conley Post 66, American Legion, will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, at the Slovak Hall upstairs meeting room, Avery Street. The agenda will include a final report on the 2008 Iraq Christmas Project. All members, prospective members and active-duty personnel are invited.

Merriconeag events

FREEPORT – Merriconeag Waldorf School, 57 Desert Rd., announces events during March. Events are held in the school’s Community Hall.

“Walk Through the Grades” will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 3. The event is for adults only and preregistration is required.

“Planting the Seeds of Kindness: Creative Ways to Work with Aggression in Children” will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 4. The talk will be facilitated by Kim John Payne. There is no cost and all are welcome.

“Early Childhood Information Session” will be from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. Thursday, March 5. The session is for adults only and preregistration is required.

Kindergarten

MANCHESTER – Manchester Elementary School will hold registration and screening for next year’s kindergarten class on Monday, April 6, and Tuesday, April 7. Registration is for children who will be 5 years of age by October 15, 2009.

Parents should bring immunization records, a copy of five-year physical form and birth certificate to the appointment. Call Mrs. Norwood at 622-2949, ext. 0 to schedule an appointment.

Bridge results

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Feb. 24 were: first, Jan Arey and Linda Leotsakos; second, Patricia Garcia and David Lock; third, Alberta Turner and Luke Merry.

Winners at Schooner Estates on Feb. 25 were: first, Mary Leahey and Claire Lyons; second, Anna Vitiello and Rosemarie Goodwin; third, Alberta Turner and Larry Fortier; fourth, Jean and Phil Bird.
