This is in response to the money-saving tip in the Feb. 20 Sun Journal.

Shelley Joyce of Farmington related that she sends back the same greeting cards to family members that were sent to her. She said she covered up writing with stickers or correction fluid. She said that they didn’t even notice that it was the same card.

Is the Sun Journal hoping that family members have arguments? Or maybe promoting bad ethics? I thought the intention of the tips was to show how to spend less on something, not be deceptive about paying nothing.

Somebody takes the time to select a greeting card and pay for it; then the person who receives it tries to give the impression she did the same thing.

I wanted to laugh, but I couldn’t because my jaw was on the floor.
