ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Yvette Cote, 93, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Lewiston, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, after a short illness, with her husband, John and family members at her side.

She was born at St. Methode, Canada, on Sept. 24, 1915, one of 12 children of Leon and Adalia Bolduc Couture. The family moved to Lewiston when she was 6 years old, where she attended St. Peter’s School.

She met John Cote, originally of Van Buren, and in 1945 they were married. They enjoyed 63 wonderful years together.

She followed her husband throughout his occupation as a chef: to Boston, Los Angeles and finally, St. Petersburg. She was a homemaker.

She made many friends, was a gracious hostess and loved to entertain. She collected dolls and created beautiful unique lamps out of broken porcelain dishes.

She and John lived independently in St. Petersburg until last year. She then moved to Golden Life Manor and was cared for lovingly by owner and manager, Lana Zablotska.

She is survived by the love of her life, her husband, John; brother-in-law, Roland Cote of Mexico; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; an infant son, Donald; and all of her siblings.
