WEST PARIS – The 40th wedding anniversary John and Mary Jane (Abbott) Ames was celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 17 at the West Paris Baptist Church.

The couple, of West Paris, was married at the West Paris Baptist Church and eventually moved to Gorham, N.H., where they raised two daughters, Alice and Lois, who have married and all four work as missionaries. Lois and her husband work in Equador, and Alice and her husband work in Florida.

More than 100 people from all over New England, including their daughters and families, were able to attend.

A special program was presented with a duet by their two daughters, “Great is Thy Faithfulness,” followed by a slide presentation and many testimonies and memories by family members and friends. Many friends contributed to trays of treats.
