AUBURN – A celebration of life service honoring the life of Algernon E. Collins Jr. was held Saturday from the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham & Son with the Rev. Arthur Lawlor presiding.

During the service, John Case, a fellow member of Faith Baptist Church sang “Does Jesus Care?” “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Oh How He Loves Me.” Al’s nephew, Dan Corriveau, read a poem written by his daughter, Katreena Meserve, as well as a reading by Al’s son, Timothy, who wrote remembrances about his dad. Al’s cousin, friend and neighbor, Gerald Goding, sang “How Great Thou Art” as a final song.

At the conclusion of services, all were invited to greet the Collins family with their own personal condolence. All in attendance were invited to a reception of fellowship at the Faith Baptist Church Hall in Auburn. Graveside committal prayers will be held later in the spring at Penley Corner Cemetery in Auburn.
