Prayer service

AUBURN – The local area Bah community will hold a public prayer service at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at 9 Amberely Way. There will also be a public meeting at 6 p.m. Friday, March 6, at the Auburn Public Library. All are welcome to participate in both events.

Group discussion

AUBURN – An informal discussion on the trials and triumphs of being in the “AARP age group” will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at the Auburn Public Library, 49 Spring St.

Contributors to the discussion will include community leaders on older adult issues from Healthy Androscoggin, Seniors Plus, Stanton Bird Club and the Sexual Assault Crisis Center. Participants should bring opinions, questions and ideas.

The free discussion will kick off the library’s “Fifty Plus Club” initiative to provide information in multiple formats to address the needs of people over the age of 50. To register, call 333-6640, ext. 2023.

History month

LISBON – The Lisbon Library will celebrate Women’s History Month during March.

A question about women’s history will be posted each Monday, with a separate question for adults and young adults. A winner will be drawn from the correct entries each Friday for a $5 gift certificate to a local business.

Legion meeting

AUBURN – Post 31, American Legion, will hold the post and auxiliary unit meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, March 9, at the legion, 426 Washington St. All members are requested to attend.

Golden Age Club

AUBURN – The Sacred Heart Golden Age Club will meet on Tuesday, March 10, in the Sacred Heart basement. A ham meal will be served at noon, with a birthday cake dessert for Fr. Frank Murray. The meeting will begin at 1 p.m.

The price for the meal is $5. Call Paula at 576-4082 for reservations no later than Sunday, March 8.

Members should bring nonperishable food items for the food pantry and religious items to be sent overseas. There will also be a container for money donations for the pantry.

Board meeting

NORWAY – Community Concepts will hold a board of directors meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, at the Norway Town Office Complex, 19 Danforth St. All meetings are open to the public. For more information, call 739-6564.

MS meeting

LEWISTON – The MS Support Group and Caregivers will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, at the Lepage Conference Center, 99 Campus Ave. A representative from the Fortin Group will speak on “Planning Ahead for all the Right Reasons.”
