GRAY – More than 40 children ages 5 to 14 from throughout the Lakes Region will appear in the Fiddlehead Players production of Disney’s “Jungle Book – Kids.”
The play features the adventures of Mowgli, who is raised by wolves and taught the ways of the jungle by a lazy, but wise bear. Mowgli will outwit a power-hungry tiger and will discover his own identity through his adventures.
Songs included in the production will be “Bare Necessitities” and “I Want to Be Like You.”
The production marks the launch of a pilot program at the center which incorporates theater classes with a staged production. Students have been participating in voice, set design, storybook theater and dance with a “Jungle Book” theme, and most of the students from the classes will join the actors on stage during the production.
The pilot program is designed to provide a theater experience for children onstage and backstage. The production is partially funded by a grant from the Davis Family Foundation.
