JAY – Charlotte G. Bubier Stevens Robinson, 68, a resident of Jay, died peacefully Thursday, March 5, at her daughter’s home surrounded by family and friends after a long illness.

She was born at home in the Brown neighborhood of Wilton, on Nov. 4, 1940, the daughter of Charles and Zelma (Lakin) Bubier. She attended the Wilton schools and was a 1958 graduate of Wilton Academy. On Jan. 1, 1978, she married Lawrence Robinson in Farmington. He passed away on Oct. 20, 2002.

She worked as a stitcher in local shoe shops before receiving training as a certified nursing assistant. She found her work as a home healthcare provider enjoyable and fulfilling as it suited her personality. She was a warm and giving person with a big heart.

She worked until she was no longer able to do so and then retired. She enjoyed being with her family and friends, playing cards and keeping up with the news. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and camping.

She is survived by two children, a daughter, Tammy Welch and her husband, Shawn, of Jay; a son, Todd Stevens, also of Jay; three grandchildren, Alisha Begin and her companion, Robert Burnell, Robert Begin and Betsey Stevens Rolfe and two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Devin Rolfe, all of Jay; four brothers, Ervins Bubier of Perry, Ernest Bubier and his wife, Karen, of Duncansville, Pa., Guy Bubier of Wilton and Terry Bubier of Loudon, N.H.; aunts, Ruth Stratton, Thelma Storer and her husband, Joe, and Maxine Collins, who were raised with her like sisters; uncles, Arthur Bubier and his wife, Julie, and Walter Bubier and his wife, Gwen.

She was predeceased by her parents; and an aunt, Irene Lowell.

The family would like to give a special thanks to a dear friend, Carol Hutchins-Bradley, who provided great care and comfort to Charlotte.
