AUBURN – Audrey A. Mooney of Gray went to greet the Lord peacefully on March 6, at the Hospice House in Auburn.

She was born on April 15, 1954, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Lorraine and the late Edward McGee. She graduated from Steinmetz High School in Chicago, Ill., and then received a bachelor’s degree in parks and recreation management and forest hydrology from the University of Maine. After graduating, she traveled throughout the country.

Audrey is survived by her adoring husband, Tom, of Gray; daughters, Kate of Vermont and Molly of Gray; sons, Brock of Scarborough and Thomas Jr., who is in basic training with the U.S. Army. She is also survived by her mother and sisters, Kathy Mlinarcik, Susan Tisza and Nancy Kelibasa, all of Chicago; and several extended family and friends.

Audrey shared her many talents while employed in construction, running a Trailways Bus franchise in Florida, as owner of Mainely Reed, as a display artist for L.L. Bean, advocating for cancer education, and most recently, at Gray-New Gloucester High School.

Anyone who knew Audrey will miss her wonderful sense of humor, strength and determination. She will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to share their lives with her.
