SOUTH PARIS – Loretta J. Mercier, 86, of Park Street, Livermore Falls, died Friday, March 6, at the Maine Veterans’ Home in South Paris where she was a resident for one month, surrounded by her family.

She was born on May 2, 1922, in Livermore, the daughter of Valentine and Hazel (Mitchell) Robinson and attended Livermore Falls schools.

On Sept. 21, 1940, she married Roland A. Mercier in North Jay. Loretta was a devoted homemaker all of her life.

She was a member of the Wayside Bible Baptist Church in Livermore and also attended Corner Stone Baptist in Jay.

She always enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Roland, of Livermore Falls; two sons, William Mercier and his wife, Denise, of Rangeley, and Daniel Mercier of Livermore Falls; a daughter, Janice Lane of Leeds; a brother, Ralph “Pat” Robinson of Bloomfield, Conn.; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Hazel June Cook and Mary Bowman; and three brothers, Harry, William and Roy Robinson.
