BREWER – The Auburn Youth Hockey Bantam team finished the final weekend of February on top of the pack in the Tier III division at the MeAHA Bantam ‘C’ Championship. Held at Penobscot Ice Arena in Brewer, the tournament included teams qualifying from across the state.
Auburn ended pool play with a 3-0 record and advanced to the finals with a 3-0 victory against PVHC in the semifinals. In the final, Auburn defeated a determined Lewiston White team, 4-0. Auburn displayed a balanced attack with four different goal scorers in the finale and a commitment to team play through out the event.
Members of the team are Matthew Berube, Cameron Spiller, Zack Deblois, Ian Durgin, Trevor Haley, Avery Jones, Nick Labbe, Tyler Lafrinea, Adam Lebrun, Dalton Lorenz, Alan Nelson, Nevin Rand, Kilton Webb, coach Dan Lebrun and assistant coach Denis Berube. The team continued its schedule with three games this past weekend, including a Sunday matinee against a team from Canada.
