LEWISTON – All are invited to learn how food choices can help prevent cancer during the “Healthy Nutrition for Cancer Prevention and the Cancer Survivor” class sponsored by St. Mary’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.
The class will focus on the American Cancer Society’s guidelines for nutrition and physical activity for cancer prevention. It will feature information on phytochemicals and antioxidants. Participants will sample healthy dishes and take home the recipes.
Classes are open to cancer survivors and people who are interested in cancer prevention and healthy eating.
The presenter will be Heidi Joslyn, a registered dietitian with St. Mary’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.
The class is free and will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, and again from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 24. Both classes will be held at St. Mary’s Nutrition Center of Maine, 208 Bates St.
