LEWISTON – A family-friendly event, “A Better Day L-A” will offer an evening of music and community awareness Wednesday, March 18, at the University of Southern Maine’s L-A College.

Among the local musicians who will perform from 5 to 8:30 p.m. are USM professor Steve Romanoff (of Schooner Fare); Mbiradzimu, featuring USM LAC graduate Godfrey Banda, traditional African rhythms; folk singer/songwriter Denise Dill; and local band Repeat Offenders.

People may bring a prepared potluck dish to share from 5 to 6 p.m. Musical entertainment will begin at 5:45 p.m.

Admission is a suggested donation of $5 per family or in-kind donations such as gently used clean clothing, nonperishable food items and care package necessities to donate to local organizations. Proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity, the Red Cross and New Beginnings.
