Residents of Greene should start looking for another job to pay for the higher wages and higher benefits the town’s employees are going to get, thanks to all those who stayed home from Saturday’s meeting.

Everywhere else in the United States, people are giving back, but in the town of Greene, town officials take and take more. Now the town is going to build a new building for $650,000.

Why do five employees need a new building with such a high price tag? I guess the town has so much more money than anywhere else in the country that people there can afford to just throw money away.

When I hear about neighbors losing their homes or jobs, I have to wonder why more voters didn’t show up to vote against the runaway expenditures in their rich town of Greene, Maine, where the town employees get it all.
