President Barack Obama has exhibited a lack of preparedness for his office. Several of his nominees were cited for nonpayment of taxes. Those who screened these people did not do a thorough job. Was it because of Obama’s popularity that they thought they could get away with it?
What really bothers me is that if you or I did not pay our taxes, we would be hounded mercilessly by the IRS. Obama’s nominees said they were unaware that these taxes were due from as far back as 2001. Did the IRS hound them?
Obama has a golden dialogue which is captivating. He talks in generalities which sound great, but he offers no specific facts or figures. He then takes a part of his socialist agenda (such as socialized health care) and connects it to the current financial crisis. Health care is presented as an area that must be fixed immediately because it has a major responsibility for the financial crisis.
Did I miss something? Health care did not give mortgages to people who could not afford the payments, nor operate the financial institutions that did not review these improper loans. Health care did not allow executives to take multimillions in bonuses while their companies were going under, or give labor unions exorbitant concessions.
This is a slick maneuver to convince us that quickly enacting socialized medicine will surely fix the fiscal problems that exist.
And there is a bridge in Brooklyn I want to sell to you.
