RYE, N.H. – The wedding of Alexandra M. Roberts and Chad W. Higgins was held on the afternoon of Aug. 31 at Wentworth by the Sea Country Club in Rye, N.H. Rabbi Gary Gerson, uncle of the bride, officiated at the ceremony.
Mrs. Higgins is the daughter of Sanford and Helaine Roberts of Portsmouth, N.H. Mr. Higgins is the son of Rita M. Vachon of Sabattus and the late William C. Higgins.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a strapless, ivory-colored organza sheath gown with matching waist sash. She also wore a hand-sewn, shoulder-length veil designed by her mother and a close family friend. She carried a bouquet with hues of blue and white in a combination of roses, hydrangea and Gerber daises.
Susan Vella, friend of the bride, attended as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Stacy Bailey, Jodi Horton, Elizabeth Hurt and Cassidy Martindale, all friends of the bride.
Marc J. Vachon, uncle of the bridegroom, performed the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Adam Roberts, brother of the bride, and Michael Bernstein, Matthew Gannon and Daniel Roehl, all friends of the bridegroom. Ian H. Mitchell, nephew of the bridegroom, was usher, and ring bearers were Samuel Mason and Aaron Mason, nephews of the bridegroom.
A reception followed at Wentworth by the Sea Country Club, after which the couple toured the California coast for their honeymoon. They are residing in Boston.
The bride is a graduate of Berwick Academy in South Berwick, received her bachelor’s degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., and received her master’s degrees in business administration and sports management from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She is director of business development at the American Heart/Stroke Association in Framingham, Mass.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Oak Hill High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Colby College in Waterville. He received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. He currently practices at the firm of Goodwin Procter in Boston.
