TURNER – April will bring more Upper Androscoggin Collaborative Adult Education classes to the residents of SAD 52 and SAD 36.
“Get Ready to Ride” will begin Wednesday, April 1, and run for four weeks. Participants will learn how a horse thinks and moves and improve their riding and performance.
Dance lessons, including fox-trot, waltz and swing, will start Wednesday, April 8. The ballroom dance class is geared toward beginners or anyone wanting to brush up on their techniques.
The Latin ballroom dancing class will also start April 8. Those attending will learn the basics in rhumba, mambo, meringue and cha-cha.
Beginning Needle Felting will be a one-night class on Tuesday, April 7. Participants will create a whimsical mouse pin.
The American Red Cross will present an infant and child CPR class starting April 7. It will prepare participants to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in infants and children up to age 12.
A Maine certificate in bow hunter safety or hunter and gun safety will be given in classes beginning April 7. Residents must specify which class they want, as they can not take both at the same time.
An ATV safety class will be held Wednesday, April 18. It offers the opportunity to prepare for a state certificate in ATV safety. Participants must be at least age 10. The instructor will cover ATV safety features, land use regulations and law pertaining to ATV use.
For students who have completed the bow hunter class, cross bow safety will be featured on Tuesday, April 28. The instructor will provide cross bows for demonstrations.
First Aid for Pets will take place on Wednesday, April 29. Learn immediate and temporary care for an injured animal until a veterinarian can give care.
Quit smoking with hypnosis will start Tuesday, May 12. The first night reduces the desire to smoke. The second reinforces the hypnotic suggestion.
