AUBURN – Mary P. Berube, 96, formerly of 32 Walnut St., Lewiston, passed away on Sunday, March 15, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.

She was born in Manchester, N.H., on July 11, 1912, a daughter of the late Narcisse and Corine (Parenteau) Pouliot. She was raised and educated in Litchfield schools, before moving to Lewiston in the 1920s.

She worked for more than 45 years to the age of 65 at Bates Manufacturing. She was a lifetime member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Lewiston.

She loved to go out to eat, being driven around to enjoy the beauty of nature and never missed a flea market outing. Growing up in rural Maine, her sense for gardening never dwindled and she never lost her love for gardening and planting flowers, even in her later years.

She is survived by sons, Roger Berube of CA., and Ralph Berube Jr. of ME.; daughters, Sylvia Freeman of CT, and Rachel Holland of AR.; seven grandchildren, Michael Berube of MD., Shelley Berube of CA., Donna Aldrich of ME., Paul Moore of Italy, Jill Brunelle of CT., Warren Moore of TN., and Jennifer Berube of CA.; 14 great-grandchildren, Roger Berube, Rachel Berube, Meagan Berube, Vanessa Robinson, Taylor Robinson and Olivia Robinson, all of California, Joshua Brunelle and Giavanna Brunelle of Connecticut, James Berube and John Berube of Maryland, and Erica Moore and Alessia Moore of Italy; a great-great-granddaughter, Rylee Berube of CA; and a sister, Leda Allaire of ME.

She was predeceased by her husband of more than 50 years, Ralph Berube Sr.; and great-grandsons, Vance Robinson and Brian Moore.
