This is in response to Lloyd Dunn’s letter, March 8. I thank him for his words. The truth will set us free! Well, it would if people want to accept it. Truth can have another effect – enrage the one who hears it.

As far as President Barack Obama being liked, I think generally he is. Dunn says he wonders if those who were so supportive of Obama continue to be so. I think a lot of them are because they see him as a god – the one who can save America.

I wonder if many people have heard of Chicago’s The Party – an offshoot of the Communist Party USA? According to the January issue of “Whistleblower,” it supported Obama’s campaign. Obama has quite the background, which the media failed to share.

Do people know what socialism is? It’s government taking wealth from the rich and redistributing it among the people. It sounds wonderful to be bailed out. However, nothing is free, and socialism means more government control and loss of freedom for citizens. That goes against what this country was originally based on: freedom, and, I might add, integrity and morals.

What does this nation need to do? The way I see it, morals are being snuffed out in this country; that can’t happen. A free country without morals cannot survive. I suggest prayer, big-time; refocus on what is right, what is moral.

The Bible is a good source for moral values.
