Free tubing

RUMFORD – The public is invited for a night of free skiing, snowboarding and tubing from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at Black Mountain of Maine.

Club to elect

RUMFORD – The annual meeting and election of officers for the Rumford Polar Bears Snowmobile Club Inc. will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at Sam’s Restaurant, Route 2.

Nominations for president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, trail master(s) and directors-at-large will be accepted from the floor.

Class luncheon

RUMFORD – Members of the Stephens High School Class of 1949 will meet for luncheon at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at the River Valley Grill.

Circle buffet

ANDOVER – The Andover Service Circle will hold a fundraising buffet luncheon on the first floor of town hall on Saturday, March 21, during town meeting lunch break. Suggested donation is $5 a person. Homemade chowders, stews, chili, breads, muffins and desserts will be featured.

Spring twirl jam

PARIS – Baton twirlers are invited to participate in a Spring Twirl Jam at noon Saturday, April 4, at Oxford Hills Middle School, Paris.

Baton twirling athletes from Poland, Mechanic Falls, Waterford, Rumford, Bethel, West Paris, Paris, Norway and Oxford will gather. Lewiston’s U.S. Twirling Association judges Pauline Moreau and Sheila Walton will officiate during the contest.

WOWS to meet

RUMFORD – Widows or Widowers Sharing will meet at noon Friday, March 27, for a potluck lunch at the Senior Citizens Center, 50 Congress St. Jeff Watts will be guest speaker.

February attendance was 18 members and two new members.

WOWS widow or widowers share in socializing, fun and laughter. It will have been meeting for 25 years in May.

Eagles fundraiser

RUMFORD – Monsta will appear at the Rumford Eagles Club Function Hall from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, March 28, to benefit local area youth groups.

During the day that Saturday, the Rumford Eagles will hold a Texas hold’em tournament, with all proceeds benefiting the youth groups. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door.

Raffle winners

RUMFORD – A free ski and board night was held at Black Mountain of Maine on March 5. Approximately 450 free ski passes were issued.

Ski tickets and gifts were raffled. Winning free ski pass and other prizes were Tyler Gates of Peru, Elijah Chasse of Hartford, Sherry Milligan and Greg Buccina and Breana Roberts of Rumford, Kim Davis of Dixfield and Tammy Schmersal of Mexico.
