“This is a wonderful story,” second-grade teacher Kaitlynn Brown tells Madina Abdi, 9, during a book release celebration at Longley Elementary School in Lewiston on Wednesday. Abdi and her third-grade classmates worked with Maine author Margy Burns Knight and illustrator Annie Sibley O’Brien on a three-month book project with help from Bates College students and a grant obtained through the Harward Center for Community Partnerships at Bates College, said O’Brien.
