AUBURN – Robert B. Armstrong, administrator of Bolster Heights Residential Care facility in Auburn, has been elected vice president of the Maine Chapter of the American College of Health Care Administrators.

Armstrong will work with the Maine Nursing Home Administrator’s Licensing Board, with the Maine Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and with university-based administration programs to address the critical leadership needs of the long term care field in Maine.

Armstrong has more than 20 years experience in long-term care and human services administration, including several years as executive director of the Western Maine Agency on Aging. He is a licensed, multi-level, long-term care administrator and a fellow of the American College of Health Care Administrators and a certified nursing home administrator. He was recently named to the ACHCA National Committee, which prepares and oversees the ACHCA certification exam process.

Armstrong holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and public administration from the University of Maine at Presque Isle. He has performed graduate studies in human resource development and organizational management at the University of Southern Maine in Portland.
