LIVERMORE – Planning Board members unanimously approved amendments to an all-terrain park’s site application to allow night hours, alcohol on premises, a permanent stage, and lighting.
The board found Tuesday that David Lovewell’s amendments to the Barnyard All Terrain park that offers mud races several weekends a year, and similar events, met the criteria of the town’s ordinance, board Secretary Kurt Schaub said.
The ordinance does not cover noise, night hours or alcohol, he said.
Several abutters to the Route 108 park spoke against the expansion at a public hearing, but those concerns were not subject to the ordinance’s criteria.
Parking, traffic and an emergency plan were addressed under the ordinance.
The amendments allow extended hours, including evenings, on-premise alcohol sale and consumption, permanent and portable lighting, and a stage for concerts, weddings, family reunions and other events.
During large events, property on River Road across from the park will be used to handle overflow parking.
Lovewell voluntarily said when the additional parking area is used, he would have law enforcement provide traffic control, Schaub said.
