Friday, March 20, percussionist Matthias Kaul of Germany, above, will perform with Portland jazz band Mystic Outbop Review at She Doesn’t Like Guthries in Lewiston. Kaul started his career as a rock and jazz drummer and studied percussion in Hamburg. He has an advanced degree in solo performance, has been featured on many record labels as a percussionst and composer in collaboration with other musicians, and has toured internationally. Mystic Outbop Review will perform improvisational jazz. On Saturday, March 21, Guthries will present indie night with electro/punk performances by Rotundo Sealeg, Ryan’s Satan Maximer and Dylan Bredeau. Both shows begin at 9 p.m.; there is no cover.
