PITTSFIELD (AP) GE Security is looking to cut back the work force at its plant in Pittsfield.

Spokeswoman Michelle May said the company has offered voluntary severance packages to more than 100 employees and that the number of job cuts depends on how many people accept the offer. The plant makes fire and light safety products and employs about 425 workers. The company said cutbacks are needed because sales are down.

GE Security is a subsidiary of General Electric Co.
