AUBURN – Bertrand Normand Seguin, 77, of Lewiston, loving and endearing husband of Joanne H. (LaRocque), entered into the grace and glory of our heavenly Father on Thursday, March 19.

He was born July 19, 1931, in Lewiston, the son of Camille N. and Marie Anne (Hebert) Seguin. He was educated in Lewiston schools up and through high school. Serving in the Air Force from 1951 to 1955, he married his loving wife that same year. They experienced the joys of parenthood having five children, three sons and two daughters.

His career as molder at Gould and Scammon, a manufacturer of shoe counters, spanned a total of 33 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 22.

Bert had the gift of picking up any musical instrument and playing it as if he had mastered it for a lifetime. One of his greatest enjoyments was to play with the worship team at New Life Christian Fellowship Church, where he served as a trustee and was active with the Peek-A-Boo puppet ministry, playing the role of Grandpa. He loved being around the children who attended the puppet shows.

His greatest joy was the time he spent with his family and eight grandchildren. He looked forward to spending meditation time at the family camp on Quantabacook Lake and spent a good deal of his time there. He had great pleasure in finding items in anticipation of providing it to others who were less fortunate. He was a true pack rat and when asked where an item was in the garage his answer was always, “In the corner behind the garage door.” For some unexplainable reason the item was always there.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years; three sons, Robert B. and his wife, May, of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., Ronald A. and his wife, Diane, and John R. and wife, Kathryn, all of Lewiston; two daughters, Loanne R. Popp and her husband, Jonathan, of West Springfield, Mass., and Christine L. Moreau and her husband, Normand, of Lewiston; eight grandchildren, Nathan, Leah, Brian, Joshua, Jonathan, Ronald, Margaruette and Anna; two sisters, Dolores Ginn of Auburn and Claudette Lizotte of Chicopee, Mass.

He was predeceased by his brother, Maurice; and sister, Lucille Berube. “Father, into thy hands I commend my Spirit.” Luke 23:46.
