DIXFIELD – The following incident was handled by Dixfield police last week:

Gregory Gallant of Carthage struck a deer with his pickup as the animal leaped over a snowbank and into Weld Street at 6:46 a.m. March 12. Gallant was driving a 1987 Toyota truck, which had minor damage to the right front of the vehicle. The deer was killed.
