SKOWHEGAN (AP) – A weekend accident at a church parking lot in Skowhegan during Maine maple weekend festivities has claimed the life of a 20-month-old boy.
Police say Kai Hasenstab was killed Saturday when he was accidentally run over by his mother, 42-year-old Elizbeth Doucette of Madison.
Police Chief Michael Emmons told the Morning Sentinel in Waterville that Doucette’s two children were standing outside her car as she tried to adjust her parking space at the Skowhegan Federated Church and struck Kai.
Emmons called the death a tragic accident.
