AUBURN – Lydia M. Dostie, 94, formerly of 180 Montello St., passed away on Sunday, March 22, at Bolster Heights surrounded by her family.
She was a daughter of Emile and Amanda (Bosse) Michaud, born in Lewiston on Aug. 25, 1914. She was educated by the Ursuline nuns. She was a lifelong resident of Lewiston, having worked most of her life in shoe shops.
She retired from Arno Moc and enjoyed her retirement with her husband, Roland, until his death in 1986. She was a member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, L’Union St. Jean Baptist and Cercle d’Youville.
Surviving are her daughter, Pauline and husband, David Gray, of Lewiston; a son, Paul and wife, Diane, of Arizona and Singapore; three grandsons, Philip Gray of Virginia Beach, James Dostie-Gray of Brunswick and Michael Dostie of Georgia; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Emilien; a sister, Bertha Labranche; a grandson, Brian Dostie; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family wishes to extend thanks to her faithful and devoted friends Maurice Fournier and Mary Begert as well as the great caregivers at Bolster Heights.
