MEXICO – Region 9 Adult Education has announced the following classes:

Word Basics: Fridays, April 24 to May 29, from 9 to 11 a.m. The class will cover formatting a document using the cut and paste technique, changing fonts, creating tables and adding photos to documents. Cost is $38

Computer Shortcuts: Fridays, April 10 and 17, from 9 to 11 a.m. The class will help uncover the secret keys that will make participants more efficient at home or work. Cost is $22

Computer Maintenance: Fridays, March 27 through April 17, from 1 to 3 p.m. The course covers basic maintenance of a computer, including defragging, monitoring hard disk usage and managing “cookies.” Cost is $29

GPS Training: Friday, April, 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meryl Ring, district forester, will conduct the hands-on class, which will give training on a GPS system. Lunch will be included. Cost is $5.

Region 9 will also hold the following class:

High Pressure Boiler: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday April 21, 22, 23, and April 28, 29, 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Learn techniques needed to operate and maintain a steam-generating plant in a safe and efficient manner. The class will prepare the student for the high pressure boiler operator licensing examination. Cost $450 (includes books and materials).
