PHILLIPS – The filing deadline for tax exemptions such as the homestead and veterans exemptions is Wednesday, April 1, Town Manager Jim Collins said.

“If someone was getting those exemptions in one community but now has a new residence in a new community, they need to reapply in that new community,” he said. “Exemptions do not follow from one town to another.”

Also, April 1 is the deadline for the second payment of Phillips tax bills, he said. Interest starts after that date.
