I searched the Internet for the “Employee Free Choice Act.” What I found from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and others that are campaigning against the act is a pack of lies and exaggerations. It reminds me of the strong-arm tactics taken by the owners of big companies when the union movement started.

I believe this country has seen enough of selfishness and greed. Big moneymakers have joined forces to prevent working people from having the right to bargain for better wages, benefits and job security. This act does just what it says: It gives workers a “free choice.”

President Barack Obama and Democrats are for it.

I hope that Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins will support it.

I believe it will be a boost to the nation’s economy.
