EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) – Kenny Mansally’s goal in the final minute of regulation lifted New England to a 1-1 tie with the New York Red Bulls on Saturday night.

Mansally snuck behind the defense and knocked home a pass from Shalrie Joseph with about 36 seconds left for the Revolution (1-0-1).

The Red Bulls (0-1-1) got their goal in the 35th minute, when midfielder Khano Smith’s crossing pass was inadvertently put into the goal by New England defender Jay Heaps. New York then had a chance to win in the closing seconds, but Luke Sassano’s hard shot sailed just wide.

Goalie Danny Cepero had 10 saves for the Red Bulls, while Brad Knighton had three for New England. Knighton was filling in for Matt Reis, a late scratch due to swelling in his knee.
