CONCORD, N.H. (AP) – The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for portions of Maine and New Hampshire.

Forecasters say heavy rain and melting snow Friday afternoon and evening may push some rivers over their banks. An inch or two of rain is expected, with the highest amounts falling in the mountains and foothills of northern New Hampshire and western Maine.
