CHESTERVILLE – Randy and Dodi Parlin of Chesterville are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Laurie Parlin of Columbus, Ohio, to Ian Smith of Columbus, son of Eric and Nancy Smith of Columbus.

Miss Parlin is a 1995 graduate of Edward Little High School in Auburn and a 1999 graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a degree in exercise physiology. She received a master’s degree in health education from Boston University and is currently employed in the health and wellness field.

Mr. Smith is a 1995 graduate of Upper Arlington High School in Columbus, Ohio, and a 1999 graduate of the University of New Hampshire. He is currently employed as the general manager of Columbus FiberNet.

An outdoor wedding is planned for Aug. 15 in New Hampshire, with a reception to follow at the New England Center in Durham, N.H.
