AUBURN – Roger G. Gauthier Sr., 80, of 1115 Riverside Drive, died Friday, April 3, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice with his family by his side.
Born in Lewiston, June 16, 1928, a son of Doria and Marie Anna Bissonnette Gauthier, he was educated in Poland schools and operated the family farm with his two sons on Penley Corner Road in Auburn. He will be remembered for his love of life, generosity and his great sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, the former Pauline R. Pelletier of Auburn, whom he married Nov. 12, 1988; a daughter, Deborah Minor and fiancé, Rick Hood, of Jackson, Mich.; two sons, Roger G. Gauthier Jr. and fianceé, Ginny Beauchesne, of Auburn, and Shawn Gauthier and friend, Celina Gauthier, of Auburn; four grandchildren, Renae Owens, Julie Minor, Lisa Minor and Zaccary Gauthier; eight great-grandchildren, Bianca, Brittney, Kevin, Janaesha, Keylia, Terrell, Hailey and Gaven; a sister, Muriel Lapointe of Lewiston; a brother, Marcel “Mike” Gauthier and his wife, Betty, of Franklin, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.
The family thanks the staff of Androscoggin Hospice House and Dr. Roger Austin for their extraordinary care and kindness during Roger’s last days.
