My husband and I have been Maineiacs season-ticket holders since the arrival of the team, and plan to be season-ticket holders again.
The controversy and politics of the past few months were disheartening at best; however, all season-ticket holders should stand back and look at the whole picture.
Did the game of hockey draw them into wanting to be season-ticket holders in the first place, knowing they would be guaranteed the same seats?
Did the thought of watching up-and-coming potential NHL players grow into their professional hockey careers draw them in?
Did they find the game exciting and entertaining? Did they watch the past team’s players grow themselves into President Cup winners?
My guess is that all answers to those questions are “yes.”
Fans must not let team owner Mark Just ruin their chance of watching these players grow into another President’s Cup (or even Memorial Cup) winner in the future.
Those hockey fans who have yet to attend a game should take a chance to see what they are missing.
Regardless of the politics, we are glad the Maineiacs are staying.
