Church to present Easter musical drama
FARMINGTON – “Redemption’s Promise,” an intense fictional musical drama set against the backdrop of Christ’s earthly ministry, death, resurrection and ascension, will be presented at 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Monday, April 10, 11 and 13, at the New Hope Baptist Church, 268 Perham St.
The story centers around 16-year-old Jason Bar Micaiah, who is convinced that the man whom many are calling the Messiah, has come to free his people from Roman tyranny.
Given the choice of adoption by a Roman centurion rather than slavery, Jason becomes involved in a dangerous and soul searching adventure that eventually reveals the truth about redemption’s promise.
An elaborate set, costumes and 30-voice choir enhance the Easter musical. The program is best suited for older school-age children through adult and is free to the public. For more information, call 778-9696.
