In describing the recent attack on a police barracks in Pakistan, the news report made this statement:

“In unveiling a new strategy for Afghanistan last week, President Barack Obama pledged more aid to Pakistan but warned it not to expect a ‘blank check’ without any accountability.”

Why should the U.S. require any kind of “accountability” from Pakistan for the aid money it receives? After all, the federal government, elected officials, corporations, Wall Street and the banks have amply demonstrated that they do not believe in such a thing for themselves.

All of them have repeatedly ignored the whole concept of accountability when handling the trillions of dollars of taxpayer “bailout” money being handed out to the wealthy.
