BOSTON (AP) – Grammy Award winner Seal was scratched from his opening-day assignment to sing the national anthem when rain washed out Monday’s game between the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays.

The game was rescheduled for Tuesday. Seal, a three-time Grammy winner whose best-known songs include “Crazy,” “Kiss from a Rose” and “Don’t Cry,” was in Boston for a concert Monday night and was scheduled to perform in Upper Darby, Pa., on Tuesday night.

He will be replaced Tuesday at Fenway Park by Keith Lockhart and members of the Boston Pops and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus. Lockhart and the Pops also will perform “God Bless America” and “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” during the seventh-inning stretch, as planned.
