Q: The referendum vote for Lisbon taxpayers to decide if Lisbon High School should be rebuilt is April 21. Why do you think it is important the taxpayers vote yes for a new school?
Mr. Warren Galway
LHS Assistant Principal
A. The reason I feel people should vote yes is because the school was constructed in 1951, and it has significant structural flaws, which impede good teaching and learning. For example, our school has a crumbling foundation, the walls in the building have separated from the foundation, there are roof issues, there are five science teachers and only four classrooms, the school has ventilation issues, the gym floor is not MPA regulation size, and the cafeteria is shared with the music room.

A. I think it’s a good idea to rebuild the high school because it will create a more efficient learning environment for students.

A. The taxpayers should vote yes for rebuilding the school because it would be beneficial for learning and educational purposes. A new environment might inspire students to work harder.

A. After two years of being in this school, I feel it needs a lot of improvements, and I hope the taxpayers can make this happen.

A. I have four children who probably will never see a new school, but I hope the future children who pass through the doors will find more choices offered to them and a safer environment.
