AUBURN – Wilma Evelyn Bryant, 79, of Turner, died April 5, at Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice House, after a long illness.
She was born in Weld, Jan. 23, 1930, the daughter of Alton E. and Annie (Merchant) Proctor. She attended Weld area schools.
On May 10, 1945, she married Sherwood Bryant, her constant companion and beloved husband of 63 years. She worked as head cook at SAD 52, Leavitt Area High School, until her retirement in 1992.
She loved working outdoors and was an avid gardener. She also loved bird watching and was a wonderful cook. Her smile, laughter and resolute nature will be sorely missed by her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband, Sherwood, of Turner; two sons, Dale and his wife, Gloria, of Turner and Marshall and his wife, Susan, of Turner; a brother, Ardene Proctor and his wife, Daphne, of Weld; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Philip on May 29, 1968, in Vietnam; a daughter, Judy Cossar on March 23, 2007; and a brother, Carroll Proctor.
