PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Hundreds of people turned out for the annual job fair at the University of Southern Maine, but found the pickings were slimmer than at past events.
WMTW-TV said more than 1,000 people showed up at Thursday’s event, the only college job fair in the state that is open to the public, in addition to students.
About 50 employers participated in the fair, down from nearly 100 that were at last year’s event.
The event was co-sponsored by WMTW, JobsinMe.com and Employment Times.
